Who I Am |
I discovered yoga while in college. I was at UCLA and looking for different ways to be active and stretch. I spent much of my time hunched over books, studying, and my back and shoulders started to pay the price. So I signed up for a yoga class. What I remember most about that first class was how good it made me feel. I felt strong and centered. I felt calm and relaxed. Most importantly I felt open. I continued my yoga practice, learning the alignment benefits of Iyengar yoga, whose focus on alignment keeps us safe in poses and while transitioning through them. I then found myself enjoying the flow (and sweat) of a Power Yoga class knowing the importance of balancing my alignment practice with the fun and playfulness from a Power Yoga class.
