About Private SessionsI teach private sessions because I want to be your partner for maternal health. I want to sit down with you to get a sense of where you are, both in your life and in your practice. I want to learn about your specific needs and issues and apply my skills and experience to create your perfect practice. I also want to assist you with getting the most out of the studio classes you do take. Or, our sessions together, may be the only chance you have to yourself.
These sessions are designed to operate in the “therapist” model, not the classic “teacher” one. The idea behind seeing a therapist is to get healthy. Whether mental or physical, a good therapist’s job is to work themselves out of one. My idea is to arm you with knowledge and teach you exercises and poses so you feel healthier. So, whether you are: - New to yoga and want to establish a solid foundation - Looking to go more in-depth with your established practice, - Wanting to explore yoga for pelvic pain - Needing a safe prenatal or postnatal yoga practice - Interested in creating an easy, customized home practice you’ll actually do These are for you. Types of Private SessionsPrenatal
Being pregnant can be work. Sometimes making a yoga class is the last thing you want to do. That’s why private sessions are a great way to align and balance. These sessions focus on stability and strength balanced with stretching. And, if you’re up for it, we can work at building your home practice during these 40 weeks. It’s about working with you, your body, and your pregnancy on your schedule. Postnatal Having the baby doesn’t make getting to classes any easier. These sessions are about healing the physical changes your body goes through while being pregnant and giving birth. In order to aid in your recovery, we’ll explore poses to strengthen and tone, restore and rejuvenate, and we’ll do it according to your unique schedule. Pelvic These sessions are focused on strengthening, stretching, and engaging a weak pelvic floor or learning to relax an over-worked one. The idea is to learn proper alignment and body mechanics while working toward a healthy pelvic floor. If you struggle with incontinence, hip and/or low back pain, or have digestive or sexual difficulties - these sessions can help. General Having taught Restorative, Vinyasa, Basic, and Intro classes - I’m excellent at welcoming people to yoga. Through my training, experience, and love of anatomy I can introduce you to the hows and whys of a yoga practice. You’ll be empowered as you learn more about your body and comfortable in your abilities to maintain a safe practice in every group class you attend. |
